Generally, that is ten years from the initial contract with a GI Bill amendment.<br />If you are eligible for REAP or Improved Post 9/11 GI Bill, then you have until 10 years from when you were last discharged from active duty.<br />It has been this way for as long as I have been in the Army, amended once the Post 9/11 GI Bill came into existence.
