When will I find out my report date and where I am going?

So I reenlisted to reclass back in June 2015. My report date for school is July 15 2016. When I talked to my career counselor, he told me I wouldn't find out till I'm at A.I.T. however, I've talked to a few friends of mine that have reclassed and they told me that they found out months before they went to school. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because I'm currently deployed and that's why I haven't found out yet? Just need someone to clear things up for me. Thanks

It depends on the length of the school. If it is a PCS length school you'll find out in school. If it's a non-PCS length school, you will be TDY enroute and find out about 90 days prior to training. If it's a multiphase training, your phase 1 will be TDY enroute to your phase 2.

I guess I should of mentioned how long my school was for. I'm reclassing to a 31E and my schooling is 7 weeks long. Thanks for the info SFC.

You'll get your orders about 30 days after you arrive to your location. HRC has a backlog. LOL
