When you submit a board packet, what do they generally look at on your NCOERs?

I just received my first NCOER, and I was wondering what was generally looked at.

You bet. Every promotion board I sat on I and the other members of the board looked at the NCOERs. Everything your rater, SR have to say about you and what you have done.

The board should be focusing on what it says about your performance and your potential for higher responsibility.

Board members at centralized promotion boards have only a few minutes to look through individual records (less time for SFC boards) and members may primarily focus on Duty Position, first bullet of each rated area and senior rater comments.
