So help me God."

Your answer lies in the wording or the enlistment oath and the order of it.
Constitution first. That takes priority over all. Against all enemies foreign and Domestic. Obey all order of the President and Officers... according to regulations and UCMJ.

You are not some rookie straight out of basic training. You should by now know what that means and how it applies to your question. It means you follow LEGAL orders. Those orders that do not conflict with the UCMJ. Being ordered to attack the government falls against the oath and the UCMJ.

Your oath is to defend the Constitution, and only that you will obey the orders of the President so long as they are within the Regulations and UCMJ. The understanding I have is that congress over the years has given away their war powers by delegating the president the power to start any war he or she wants for 90 days if the US or our intranets are threatened. If a president were to out of nowhere order an invasion or bombing of Canada, who would say they aren't a threat and stop the attack? A lot of damage can be done in 90 days. Congress needs to take back their war powers. Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 26 at 2019 6:50 AM 2019-12-26T06:50:50-05:00 2019-12-26T06:50:50-05:00 2019-12-22T21:03:54-05:00
