This list is often known as the "black list". Some of these locations are social gathering places like clubs because of fights, STDs or places like "pay day now" that offer an early paycheck yet charge 60 percent up front. I would also add places like car lots for the inexperience car buyer. IT wasn't off limits but it had a pretty hungry clientele that would eat a GI up for their own benefit. <p class="pta-link-card-description">I'm stationed in a relatively small post, our Off-Limit List is about just 5 Establishments (3 of them for selling Spice Tobacco and the other 2 for Unethical business practices). What surprised me is that one of them is where I did my car inspection last summer, one of this Gas stations with an auto shop in it. As adults that can make our own decisions, should there be actual "Off-Limits" Establishments?</p>

Carson in '88 there was a Gentlemen's Club, Puss-In-Boots that, while not on the Off-Limits list, was quickly pointed out to us youngsters as a place not to go, couple years later as a young CPL, one of the FNGs from our company, married one of the dancers, all "we" could do was shake our collective heads, did not last too long or end too well for young Soldier!! When I was at Howard AFB in Panama as a civilian I found out the USAF not only told everyone the name of the off-limit place but provided a photo and directions to the place. I guess so the Airmen would be sure to avoid it.
