Interesting enough Eastern Washington's Spokane area is growing at a moderate pace with ever more tech and specialty stuff popping up. The economy takes a downturn as soon as you hit Idaho with the exception of health care. So all we're doing is advancing our retirement career but I have to figure out a way to make my deer hunts tougher because the two last year were in bedroom slippers. Same went for turkeys. Fishing is good although I don't do much of it. Lots of lakes up in Northern Idaho. And looking at a bright Milky Way at night is something to behold. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and most of it less than a 30 minute drive from downtown Anchorage or Fairbanks. Military bases with good facilities in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Anchorage schools are good; don't know about other places. Some villages are reachable only by water, aircraft, or snow machine in winter (if you're looking for remote). No income tax.
