The only difficult part of that school outside of staying awake in class -- it's a lot less physical than it used to be from what I hear. Learn to run, love to run. Get in the habit of running wherever you go, do not walk. PT yourself to death. If you think you are in good shape? You are not in the shape you need to be in, and push yourself harder.

Learn to function on little sleep.

PAY ATTENTION and take notes if you can. I will say it again... PAY ATTENTION. You will be tested on everything. Learn to check and double check everything. Pack only what they tell you, HOW they tell you. It was divided into thirds, the first third was all information to memorize such as the different aircraft and their characteristics, medevac, etc. Next was sling load for multiple things including humvee, trailer, water trailer, cargo bag, cargo net, and fuel blivets. And finally rappelling. Sling load was by far the hardest part, primarily the cargo bag. We had a couple get dropped for not being able to tie a swiss seat in time, several from sling load exam, and lots from obstacle course. Make sure you can do all the obstacles when you are smoked because they will smoke you the whole time. Good luck! I would say go onto the Fort Campbell website and click the TSAAS for info. It’s easy really. PT is simple if you’re in good shape. Just stay with the count. We started with 240+ and finished with 94. The biggest things that got our people: 2 mile run and obstacle course, “10” Layout, Sling Load Hands On, and 12 mile Ruck. Sling load got the most (cut our class from 184 to 100). Pay attention, get a good sequence, and do as you’re told. You’ll do fine.
