Great question! I have been doing a free online ground school. From all the research I have done the ground school portion of the course is just like any other ground school so I figured it couldn’t hurt. http://www.fly8ma.com is what I am doing.

Do you know which platform? Getting yourself access to JTDI will allow you to peruse pretty much anything platform-specific you may need, just be sure to check the box for UAS so you get the right stuff. Some good starters you can find elsewhere:

AR 95-1
TC 3-04.11
^these two will be your bread and butter (non platform-specific)

Also take a look at:
AR 40-8
DA PAM 738-751
Classes of Airspace and entry requirements (google)
Fundamentals of Flight (can't remember the pub off the top of my head)

Take the JKO Courses for UAV/ UAS. They helped me a lot
