Where can I find the California National Guard OCS training schedule?

So after a lot of deliberating, I've decided to become an Officer in the NG. I have 122 credits and about a year left of college. I will be doing the "state OCS" where I go to school (1) weekend a month until completion. I believe it's called "state OCS" or something to that effective. I am currently working on my package, but was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the training schedule for Cal. NG. I did ask my recruiter which he is looking into, but I figured I'd ask the question in case anyone here knew where I could find it. The next class date is FY19 so I have a little time, any help would be great thanks.

The 223rd Infantry Regiment of camp San Luis Obispo of the California Army National Guard was my training unit when I commissioned in 1996. I don't see it listed there now. Call the base number and ask if the 223rd Infantry Regiment is still the OCS entity on Camp SLO.Commercial: [login to see]

I started out and about this time in 1995. There were three days a month for the first couple months then a 2-week training somewhere in the US. Then about another Year's worth 3-day weekends. They normally bus you from Northern or Southern California to camp San Luis Obispo and back. Then you have a final two weeks at Fort Lewis Washington. It was about a 15-month program. I knew a first lieutenant who was separated from the California guard 9 years after he was commissioned because he never completed his bachelor's degree. Just remember, after you finish OCS in August sometime in the future, you would have to go to do your officer basic course which could be anywhere from 2 to 3 months down the road. With that and with drooling with your National Guard unit, you may not have time to finish it and eventually it's going to catch up with you. I would suggest that you get your bachelor's degree out of the way. Don't be like that first lieutenant who was an excellent military police officer who was separated for not having his bachelor's degree. What a Sad waste of talent!

There's a main phone listing here for the Calif NG on tis site...purely as a suggestion, I think if you call there, and actually ask for the staff thst supervises the Calif NG OCS program, you should be able to get some halfway decent info...I was Army ROTC originally, I went USAF OTS instead, however, I've delved somewhat into that whole thing of how individual states and territories do their own OCS programs, so I'm aware they tend to ne rather more spread out in time period by contrast with the typical centralized OCS programs,. I'll send you something else you might find useful, it doesn't go into the state level OCS programs for NG, however, it does at least give a kind of one stop shopping for those interested in OCS progtemas generally for the conventional OCS programs apart from that type. Just when you call, if the one you ask for doesn't know, again, purely as a suggestion, ask for a supervisor or manager, explain your interest, and ask if they could put you on hold for a cpl of mins and go ask he adjutant general staff who actually handles he Calif NG OCD, someone must he tasked with doing it, or would have the schedule stuff you want, I should think, honest, I think that's your best chance to get to exactly the right one(s) actually involved with it, OK? I'd be most eager to know if you get anywhere, if I find anything else that might ne useful, I'll try to also send that, as well...if you can, I'd most curious, what major are you for your undergrad? What branch did you want as commissioned, what MOS? Are you trying for grad level to go masters or doctoral? I just have an interest in such things if you might care to elaborate at all, I might have a few suggestions, if you can give more in here, GPA, hobbies, trading, interests, ambitions, motivations, ultimate objectives, etc....hope that was at least of some use, I'd be most eager to hear more as I'd said, if time might ever permit, many thanks.

This is the site I'd mentioned...also, had you looked at other svcs, or the regular OCS programs, direct commission routes, or OIS (indoc) programs? I onoy mention those as alternatives, I realize you might not want those routes, I was just curious, as I'd said, I'd really be most eager to hear more the discussion page on this site can be most interesting to read...as I'd also mentioned, the site isn't necessarily alp inclusive, however, it's the best site I've seen on OCS programs generally, you know?

I gather the Calif NG OCS is apparently run out of this installation, from what one of the articles I'd sent you had said, I'm sure ifmyou just call information, you can get the main phone, there's likely a Calif NG OCS recruiter there, or the staff or operator could likely hook you up with he Commandant office, I'd figure, you know? Just out of curiosity also, had you ever looked at USMC Platoon Leaders Course (PLC), being USMC, I kinda figured you'd heard of it, however, it's less well known than ROTC, I gather both, I think, at least, can ne done while in grad school, if you might want to also think about that, purely a thought, of course...I'd be most eager to know your major, potential branch, desired MOS, grad school stuff, as I'd said, as well, no rush....

People have the impression that the CA ARNG OCS program is easy. It's a much onger commitment and effort to endure the 18-month-long program than the regular FT Benning OCS avenue.
That, and prepare yourself to have the dogshit smoked out of you from the moment you report in, non stop, until you leave on Sunday evening. Good luck.
