They are DVOP (Disabled Veteran Opportunity Program) representatives who case manage disabled veterans as well as other veterans with barriers to employment and LVER (Local Veteran Employment Representatives) who do the business outreach to find or create jobs/careers for veterans. We are part of each state governments Workforce one-stop system which are called different things (WorkSource in Washington State) in different states. There are so many different ways to target veterans, but the key is going to be location. Where are you and where are you trying to fill positions. I agree that you need to review the existing hiring groups that currently exist like Hiring our Heroes, vet group sponsored job fairs, targeting transition courses at military installations, and more. Do you have a vet focused hiring site? Have you considered reaching out to a veteran recruiter from a company that isn't competition so you can learn from their best practices?
