In the RC/Guard it is where they have slots. In the Guard they sit at the company, BN, and BDE levels. Some states have Div. Nice thing about the Guard is you can grab a secondary branch through CCC if your state doesn't have longevity for 25A careers. Signal Officers aren't just in Signal units. I was in 50th Signal Battalion (3 different companies), an Engineer Battalion, Division Support Command, MANSCEN Headquarters, a basic training company, and the USAREC headquarters company.
