Where did you do your tanking? After AIT at Fort Knox I was with the 5/32 Armor, 24th ID in Muich Germany from Dec 1964 to Aug 1967, Then I was at range control at Fort Irwin from Sep 1967 till Jan 1968, then with 1/68 Armor 8th IID at Baumholder Germany Feb -Nov 1968. Then I ETSed and eventually dis another 15 years USAR and CAARNG, but was off the tank.

When I first got to Germany, Dec 64, the 11thACR was there, then later in 65 they went to Nam. To take up the slack the 2/9 Cav, the 24th ID divisional cavalry, had to rotate a troop to cover the Regen Border Camp. When I first got there I was stuck in ground surveillance radar for the first six months. All line battalions had to rotate their GSR sections to the border also, so I did one two week rotation on the border.

That makes you a "Dino" tanker. With that time frame you must have been mostly on M48A3s.
