Where do you want your final resting place to be?

I had a recent conversation with a co-worker about why people wanted to be buried at Arlington Cemetery. I think it would be an honor to share the resting place with so many heroes in the most famous cemetery in the US. Where do you want to be your final resting place?

Sir, I'm not a hero or a coward, so whatever the ones I leave behind decide to do with me is OK. They can over cook me put me in a jar, throw me in a hole, whatever will be their dicision. I really don't think I will have much say in the matter whatever they decide anyway.

We have a family plot and that is where I will be buried. There will be three of us there with military headstones.

Funeral Pyre, with a hell of a party.

We're all Atoms, billions of years old, and I'd like mine returned to the Earth itself. Hopefully with winds will take me all over the globe to the places I never got to see while I lived. I don't need a stone on the ground. I (hopefully) left my mark with my family, friends, and those who knew me.

Maybe someday, when we reach the stars, a few of those Atoms will make their way with the first or any waves.

I want to have some part of my body buried on every continent and tossed into every ocean in the world. If my husband dies before me, he wants me to create an International Incident by scattering his ashes in the Indian Ocean. Otherwise, Arlington is fine for us.

Well, I've done some research on this lately, and it really depends on the wife. I would personally prefer to have my ashes spread at sea.

I think my wife (and her family) are a little scandalized by the idea, so a federal or state military cemetery will be listed as acceptable. After all, I'll be dead, memorials are for the living, so I'm cool with whatever.

I do not care what is done with my body once I am deceased. At that point I am already dead, and all that matters is what helps my wife and children cope.

I told my wife that if I'm ever eligible to send my ashes to Arlington. If not there's a veteran's cemetery in my hometown that'll work. I've always preferred to be around my brothers and sisters in arms.

I recently went to a service at Bushnell Military Cemetary near Ocala, Florida. After the service I walked a bit and after seeing the internment area for cremations, I decided that, this was where I wanted to be placed.

As far as a view goes Point Loma Natl Cemetery is the best, my pops is there too. However, whatever my family wants to do is cool with me. Although there's a company that makes diamonds out of your remains, that would be cool too.

I hold a couple of things very true in my life and they are Skydiving and Surfing.

Therefore, with that said I would like my ashes after Doctors have salvaged any usable parts to be spread through the sky over the ocean or two ceremonies with one in each place.

There is no need for my useless body to take up real estate.

Wherever or whatever is financially expedient or emotionally preferred by my loved ones after I am gone. I don't subscribe to the whole sanctified treatment of the dead, so my loved ones can do whatever the heck they want. After all, funerals are for the living.

My current plans in my will are cremation with interment in a State Veterans Cemetery. I wish to have a Military Ceremony but with the least cost to my surviving family members. I think they will have enough on their plate without me being around to have to figure out how to pay for something. My simple request DON'T waste money on me I'm gone I won't be around to see it.

I highly suggest that if you have not made a will with your wishes clearly and plainly stated that you do so today. You never know when you will leave this earth and without instructions your family will have that burden placed on them. There are many websites that have free will forms and you just have to fill it out and print it, let a loved one know where you put it. If you want to be more legal you can have it witnessed and notarized, this helps if it might be contested but not required.

I wish to be Buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Last Summer we laid my wife's Step-Father to rest at Arlington with full honors. He, a LTC Retired from the Air Force after serving as a Door gunner during WWII in the Army Air Corps, during Korea as an officer, and during Vietnam as a Electronic Systems Officer on B-52's during the Linebacker missions.

The ceremony, and the setting, and the history are awe inspiring, at Arlington and being laid to rest among so many hero's is a genuine honor.

I, Sir, want to rest with those same heroes that you spoke of, with our Lord God, Jehovah, and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. That's the only real rest we will ever have. Both my father and I have at this point picked Saratoga National Cemetery as our final resting place. Like any cemetery it is full of honor and full of hero's of all shape and size and service. One point that I find it an honor to have my final resting place to be the site of the turning point of the American War for Independence (the Revolution), aka The Battles of Saratoga.

Definitely prefer to be interred in a federal cemetery with a space for my wife. Over the years there have been issues with state run cemeteries especially when they become or are forecasted to become cash-strapped. My personal preference is to be interred in 1st choice West Point, NY Cemetery; 2nd choice Arlington, VA Cemetery; 3rd choice a federal cemetery near Gettysburg or Valley Forge, PA.

My corpse will go to a medical school. I've signed all the paperwork, and carry a card in my wallet. When they are done with it, the remains will be cremated. I have asked that the ashes be sent to a VA cemetery.
