The HofBraü serves every kind of margarita you can think of, you're lucky if it's not a line around the corner. The Magnolia Pancakehouse is nice. If you're downtown you can hit Texas de Brasi or the Saltgrass Steakhousel. I didn't want to list any Mexican or tex-mex, everyone has different tastes and SA has tons of them to choose from. The tacos norte are legit. I travel to San Antonio once a month. It's close enough to the "touristy areas" to get a glimpse of that scene, bu just far enough away to not get mauled by prices. If you miss it while you are in the city, they have a satellite location in the airport (not as good but still great). The margaritas are on point.
