Here in San Antonio we have one and the work done is free. There are also programs where Dentists will go to a function and do free work. My wife is a Dental Asst. and her boss does this. If I read your post correctly you are 10% disabled according the the VA. If you are collecting 100% social security disability, then perhaps there is something that the VA can do for you. There are a lot of factors in a VA disability rating besides medical related stuff. Inability to work is a huge one. From what I understood, if you want to go there and wait for a no-show or when a dentist has a free moment, they would look at you...depending on what the problem is. If you live near a military base, it doesn't cost anything to give them a call and see if they do this. For what it's worth, I do have dental insurance (Federal) and they don't really seem to pay that much. I'm always having to pay a good amount for any dental care.

Depending on what your problem is, I'd call around to several dental offices and check their costs. Doing this has saved me a little money over time. You might be surprised what they will do for you even with an average income. Look into your county health department/ clinics.
