The Federal Way area maybe. It would save you some time in traffic on I5 since you'd be going opposite the direction of most people. Stay out of Fife though.

Tacoma is one of those cities that has both good and bad. North Tacoma is the nice part. The northwest area near Ruston. Ruston is also a pretty nice little city. University Place is a decent area as well, but it will have some rough spots.

I know a lot of people who live in the Laceyh, Olympia, Yelm areas. Anyplace from Federal Way to Yelm is going to be similar depending on what you want to do. Hiking? Camping? Fishing? Shooting? 4 wheeling? Each area has advantages and disadvantages.
Clubbing? If you want more out in the country but still kind of close to base, you've got Roy, Yelm, and McKenna are all out East gate which can help you avoid I-5 traffic. If you want to stay more in the cities/suburbs and contend with the hell of Washington drivers and the congested rush hour on I-5, there's Lakewood (careful about some places in Lakewood. Pierce County is the birthplace of the hit show that we've all come to know and love, COPS), Spanaway, South Hill, Puyallup, Dupont, South Tacoma, Steilacoom, take your pick. There are a LOT of options, all with their own pros and cons.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 13 at 2018 7:48 PM2018-07-13T19:48:57-04:002018-07-13T19:48:57-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member3796747

Spanaway is nice, but more towards the 224th side, stay away from the 179th side. Then you take that back Roy gate, avoid traffic and quick 18mile commute. You also get a much bigger yard in that area.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2018 1:06 AM2018-07-16T01:06:58-04:002018-07-16T01:06:58-04:00WO1 Private RallyPoint Member4096075

Definitely check out DuPont, WAResponse by WO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 3 at 2018 12:42 AM2018-11-03T00:42:31-04:002018-11-03T00:42:31-04:002018-07-03T16:13:38-04:00
