That deal has been the lead on every news show and website since they walked out of the meeting. (Not including the hurricane coverage that is prempting everything. <br /><br />To me what is sad is that IMO Trump should be getting more credit for refusing to follow the same old tired playbook of the repubs of waiting to the last minute on the debt ceiling, then holding the good credit of the US hostage to add stuff that could never pass on its own merits. Instead he said lets just get this first step done so we can move on to bigger things. So he rejected the repub proposals and took a shorter term deal. <br /><br />Perhaps he is realizing that if he is willing to work with dems as well, there are plenty of votes to do things like infrastructure bills. But the repubs are furious with him. I think Trump is beginning to realize that, just like healthcare and daca, the repubs are much better at opposing things than actually getting things done. So now he knows he cant get anything passed just by repubs and needs to include the dems in the process.
