I personally lived Ft. Lee. Ate at the JCCOE when I wasn't working, instead of the DFAC.

What do you consider a "good" duty station?

It is not where you are at but what you do where you are at. What is your goal as a SSG? If to improve your leadership and skills the location has nothing much to do with a "good" duty station. Talk to SFC and higher at to see what is takes to progress. You may end up with a good duty station, but what if you don't.

It's not the place..its the things you do. I hated JBLM, Liked Korea, and loved FT. Hood so much I stayed there 13 years and did 4 deployments. Had a lot of opportunities and made a lot of networking connections. If teaching and instruction is your thing Ft.Lee is where you want to go. If it's travel. Go to Europe. Every post is different. Good luck with wherever you choose to go just leave there a better NCO than when you got there.

I'm currently a cook in one of the army vessels called LSV.
It is pretty amazing cause it's totally different than cooking what I learned in AIT. There are LSVs in Hawaii, Virginia, Tacoma, and in Kuwait.

Easy Any SF unit, take your pick. Fort Bragg,Eglin AFB, Fort Carson,Ft Lewis ,Germany. You dont have to be airborne qualified either. I was with 3rd SFG at Fort Bragg and i was also at Eglin AFB when i was in the Airforce.
