Start by reading and learning everything on the USAREC Warrant recruiting page and contacting your local recruiting team. Honestly I’d say make at least SPC, I’ve only seen one private ever make it. But your chances raise significantly with a little more time and experience under your belt. Good luck and keep pushing forward. Drum. Experience is always helpful. I agree with what some others are saying. Find a Warrant Officer, a Flight Warrant, and talk to them and get some information about what they actually went through etc. Get over to the CAB across the road while you are there, stop at the Brigade (just before the BK) and ask to speak with the Caree Counselor there. He or she will probably be able to help you find a Flight Warrant and answer your questions or put you in the right direction. What you dont need to do is talk to recruiter off post. They cannot help you as their job to put people in boots and you are already in boots. You could talk to your BN Career Counselor or Division Retention office at Clark Hall.

Climb to Glory! Get your flight school packet started immediately. If it gets denied, you'll already know what to do at the next FY for another packet. Get your SIFT test and flight physical knocked out and then start worrying about the other pieces. You must take the SIFT before scheduling a flight physical. The biggest thing is your letters of recommendation. Get one or two CW5s, COL or above, Congressman, Representatives, etc.. Those are the packets that won't immediately get your packet tossed aside.

If you're serious about it, I would start asking your basic training buddies if they know anyone who went "street to seat" as a warrant officer. They would be a good person to talk to as they might have a little more guidance for you or know more about the warrant path. Also don't let your hopes down from someone on the forum that isn't in aviation/isn't current with what's going on in that branch. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 12 Sep 2018 19:47:10 -0400 2018-09-12T19:47:10-04:00 Response by SSG Nathan Blair made Oct 23 at 2018 12:39 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/where-to-start-on-a-rotary-wing-warrant-packet?n=4066909&urlhash=4066909

Take your fast test (flight aptitude skills test), take a class 1 flight physical, complete your packet, get letters of recommendation (commanders, pilots from the airfield (W-4 and above). Ask a warrant that used to be enlisted (recently) to look it over to make sure you have everything. Make 3 copies (4 to keep one for yourself). Then submit it and hope for the best.
