I was first at An-Nasiriyah (Camp Thunderdome outside Tallil AB), then near Diyaniah (Camp Scania), on to Baghdad (Camp Victory) and ended up near Al-Hilla (Camp Kalsu) during the early days in 2003 and 2004. In 2008, I was mostly near Al-Quiyyarah (FOB Q-West), but traveled to Mosul (FOB Diamondback), Tal Afar (FOB Sykes), Kirkuk (FOB Warrior), Tikrit (COB Speicher), Habur Gate and some Korean camp that I can't remember the name of. And fun was had by all, the end.

For Desert Shield/Storm/Calm (1991), the unit was out of Riyadh Saudi Arabia, but I traveled from Daharahn to Riyadh to Kuwait City....I may have also crossed into Iraq....borders didn't exist at that moment!!

We had 2 FOBs in Al Ambar. One was in Al Waleed on the Syrian border and the other in Trebil on the Jordan border. We were there in 2005.

I made it up to Tallil aka. George Bush interational early April 03, Al Asad 07, back to Al Asad Nov. 07 then forward deployed to Afganastan until I think March 08. Ballad 09 thru 10, traveled a lot on this trip to, Speicher, Echo (found out why it was called the catchers mit), Basara, Ramadi, Najaf, Tallil, etc..

First time as the support platoon leader for 2-327th IN, 1st Bde, 101st Airborne Division during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm from AUG 90 to APR 91. We started off along "Tapline Rd." on the Saudi/Iraqi border. On D-Day, we drove like hell up MSR New Market into southern Iraqi.

From AUG 05 yo AUG 06, I was a MTT team officer and later MTT team chief embedded with the 1st Bn, 1st Bde, 3rd Infantry Division (Iraqi Army). We home based out of an old British frontier fort, Fort Tal Afar, and conducted operations in northern Tal Afar and other local villages. When we wanted something tasty for dinner, we'd convoy over to the big city of FOB Sykes through IED alley. Best assignment. Ever.
