Hello,
My question is in regards to my wife who is active duty and is getting a medboard. Before enlisting together, we married in Colorado, but due to her injury and subsequent surgery, she is unable to complete her MOS training and remains in IET status, wheras I have PCS'd to Fort Stewart, GA. We've heard tell that when it comes to her final move, the DoD will pay for her and her goods to move to our home of record in Colorado, but we have also heard that because she is a military spouse and my dependent, she will be relocated along with her goods to my duty station. My question is this: which answer is correct? Or at the very least, where can we look for more information?
Thank you all in advance for your time and expertise

Yes there is, but I have heard negative things about. We’ve sought to possibly get her compassionate orders to my post’s WTU, but we were told no

When your spouse separates they will rate a move. They will be able to work with the local TMO office on the details to include address. Changing the address from your home of record to a new address isn't a major deal. I wouldn't stress.

been a while but the way it used to work is they sent you and your goods to your HOR. You can elect to have them sent somewhere else but if it is more expensive you have to pay the difference.

Thank you, sir. Do you by chance know where we can attempt to make that change? We are trying to get a hold of her local transportation office, but with COVID-19, that is proving difficult. Is there an alternative office we could contact?
Thank you
Thank you

SPC (Join to see) - IIRC everything has to go through the local office. You could try contacting DFAS directly but you'd probably run into the same issues you are having trying to contact the local office. you can either get them to ship your stuff or do it yourself and request reimbursement. You have a weight limit based on rank and marital status. married soldiers have a higher weight limit and the higher your rank the higher your limit.
