It's all based on what AFSC's are needed the most at what location. A lot depends on what your AFSC actually is, what projected losses the losing station has, and what other "specially manned" assignments have priority for.<br /><br />Unless the system has changed, you are allowed to pick bases of preference (assuming your AFSC is at that location) but that doesn't mean that's where the AF will send you.
