Which brand would you suggest for a new pair of boots?

Danner boots are flippin awesome. Expensive, but worth it

If your main focus is durability, I would recommend standard issue. If you don’t want standard issue go to a store with a lot of choices and keep trying them on until you find the most comfortable boots for you, if you’re boots are making your feet hurt you won’t want them to be durable.

Depends on your MOS....My MOS, you were barely able to get 6 months out of any boot you bought. You marched so much you wore the treads off before the leather broke down... Most of us used OD Green Jungle boots with the "plates" stripped out of them, soaked in water for 2 hours and worn until dry.....Just like a pair of sneakers when done...

Had to completely change my response once I saw you are looking to be in a hospital setting.
Here we go.
The standard issue boots are designed to do the minimum necessary and last you until your next clothing allowance. They are decently priced, and very effective for day to day stuff. not the most comfortable, but definitely will last if you aren't doing crazy heavy maneuvers. They last people on patrol in Afghanistan, they last through Selection (sometimes).
In a hospital, I'd recommend something that is super comfy and not worry about the durability because the types of maneuvers that wear out a boot are likely not to be done. You're on your feet all day, but on a level, smooth, very hard floor. That combines for very sore arches.
Try the lighter boots that are out there - they are all "durable", but also waaaay comfier.
Oakley are the one's I am currently using, very nice.
Nike, Rocky C5 or S2V (S2V's are crazy expensive though....but worth it)
Tactical Research by Belleville are even pretty good. Belleville makes the standard issues ones. These are their "lightweight" option.
I haven't tried Danners but have heard great stuff.
If you are at Bragg, go get yourself a set of SOPC specials and bask in your "moccasins"
All of these boots will be very comfy and will last the occasional field exercise and road march while you keep everyone going in the hospital. They even will do fine if you move out to a line platoon.

If only Merrell or Salomon would make a tan boot......
