VFW, DAV, MOPH, the legion, and AMVETS all do great things. I know that the VFWs, usually, have funds set aside just to help vets in need and those accts could always use a few extra dollars. I would stay away from a lot of the popularized organizations (e.g. wounded warriors). Also, I have heard of some really good things being done by the guys and gals over at Dysfunctional Veterans.
