Which is more harmful? Which is worse? Intentional disrespect of US military or the US Flag? Or SGT Stoval and his platoon, trying to be “more supportive” than they really are?

Stolen Valor can be a mental problem with some folks met one myself. Started talking him and realized he was just child like and living his dreams. Another guy I know claims to be a retired CSM and has been SF and has more war stories than Patton he is just a stupid ass that those of us that know him cannot stand him. Disrespecting the US Flag in anyway is unforgiveable. I have no NFL and Piss on the NFL stickers on my truck. I have been asked why? I tell them I have no respect for anyone who disrespects our Flag. And there are better ways to protest.

Personally, I see disrespect to the Troops and the Flag as one in the same. Both equally deplorable. Your disrespect to the Troops shows you are pissing on the very people that provide you the opportunities to demonstrate and protest. And people disrespecting the Flag in the same country where that Flag represents their right and ability to demonstrate and protest. But the minute you challenge them about stomping on the Flag, they will scream and holler at you that they are exercising their right. Sadly ironic, really. The uneducated education of society. As for SGT Stoval, I must be missing something. Who is SGT Stoval?

I don't tend to care much about either. As for stolen valor, if they don't scam money out of people, no crime exists. As for disrespect to the military or flag, they have the right to be the biggest asshole in the world, so long as they hurt no one. I would go so far as to say that the constitution, which we all swore to support and defend, grants them the right to say and do whatever they want short of hurting or stealing. I would actually defend someone's right to show disrespect towards me and my service, while simultaneously despising them.
