All parties would be better served if you just stayed home and pursued a degree in aviation.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Dec 31 at 2019 10:24 AM2019-12-31T10:24:33-05:002019-12-31T10:24:33-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5397591<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have quite a few friends and family who work for Boeing. Some are NG, some are retired military, some are just normal civilians with no particular aviation history. So, go for something you enjoy, Boeing is a big hiring agency for veterans. One drawback of Boeing is they tend to lay their workers off for periods of time in accordance with the work availability. It's not as big a deal when you have a military pension to fall back on.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 31 at 2019 11:25 AM2019-12-31T11:25:57-05:002019-12-31T11:25:57-05:00SrA John Monette5397754<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>look at other aircraft manufacturers too. don't limit yourself to Boeing. Get a degree while you are still active duty. most jobs that you would want as a career will require some level of education. Use tuition assistance and get the military to pay for it. i retired in 2015, got a job with Boeing, and work with people who have massive student debt. so much so that they dont know when or how they will pay it off. Experience alone will not get you a job. you will almost always need to meet the minimum education requirements for that particular job. a degree qualifies you for that job, experience will help get you that job.Response by CW4 Anthoney Lowry made Jan 2 at 2020 9:24 AM2020-01-02T09:24:42-05:002020-01-02T09:24:42-05:00SSG Mark Franzen5404752<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What is your MOS?Response by SSG Mark Franzen made Jan 2 at 2020 12:03 PM2020-01-02T12:03:44-05:002020-01-02T12:03:44-05:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member5424752<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It totally depends in which part of Boeing you want to work.
