The system makes way more sense. I don't understand how anyone with a science or engineering background could say otherwise. I think most people can't separate their history of rote memorization from evaluating how the systems actually work. Yes it is harder for people who are already trained in Standard to switch to Metric. However it is FAR more easier to TEACH metric than it is standard. There are for less conversion mistakes between metric units than there is standard units. Metric units are easier to comprehend with relation to each other than standard units are because we can understand differences of magnitude far easier than arbitrary size differences. Then we would solve the problem and convert the answer back to standard.
