Which MRE do you hate the most?

As our FTX comes to a close we have consolidated the outcast MREs to one box. Our biggest losers are Ratatoullie and Pork Sausage.

Veggie Omelette. I had the displeasure of drawing the short stick once and got last choice and I had to attempt to stomach this god-awful monstrosity. Everything else was fine, but I puked up that main course. No amount of hunger could make me stomach that because it already tastes like straight vomit.

I haven't had one in 15 years. I remember in the 90's there was this omelet one that was super horrible.

Vast Majority I'll bet are better than the C-Rats from my day but I'm sure that some would be about equal.

First off, we Viet Nam'rs didn't have MREs: we ate "C" or "K" Rats leftover from WWII, the ones the Korean War boys didn't finish off. Now, as for my most dreaded, I actually looked forward to General Quarters when we were finally able to eat something that wasn't impregnated with olives or green peppers that came off the Mess Lines. Those RATs all tasted great!!!

Four Finger Mary was pretty much on everyone's shit list. A MRE which is long gone was also a safety hazard. It had beef patty but then it also had "bean component" with a label "Warning Not for Flight or Preflight Use." Back in the day, that was considered a challenge so the MILs would purposely eat it before we'd go up in the ski equipped Hercs in Antarctica. The result was noise and smell worse than the big hydraulic tank by the port wing.

This one was a Communist plot and I believe I can prove it ... the dehydrated pork patty. I last saw it in 1989. What else was starting to crumble and then died in 1990? East Germany followed shortly by ... That right, the freakin' Soviet effin' Union people! Coincidence? No. No freakin' way.

Two come to mind and unless you came in pre OIF/OEF you probably don't remember...
MRE # 6 - The 4 fingers of death (AKA The Beef Frankfurters) and
MRE # 2 - Corned Beef Hash
Alas. (sigh) These two gastronomic meals are no longer with us.
It's a shame the current generation of America's Finest are missing out on these two.
As far as the best: MRE # 10 - Chili Mac

Any vegetarian meal. Makes me angry every time I get stuck with one. It's not like we have a draft, and Bhudists and 7th day Adventists and Hippies are being forced to serve. If it bothers you to eat meat, what under the sun are you doing in the service? And then to make matters worse wherever these vegetarians are, they always fail to eat all the veggie MREs, and what happens after all the joes have rat f'd the box and I get a meal???? VEGETARIAN RATATOUILLE!!!

The dark brown bag MREs in the 90s had some meals not too many of us liked to eat. Omelette with Ham, Chicken-Ala-King, Tuna with Noodles and Corn Beef Hash to name a few.
