Then look at the classes the include in their degree requirement. Then use that as a measuring stick compared to what knowledge you want/need or what would be of greatest demand by a potential employer. My wife graduated from the University of Illinois and we now live in Texas. No one seemed the least bit concerned that her degree came from out of state. But do ensure that it is accredited and recognize that if you are using the school's placement services, then it really does matter if it is a local university. UofI is a good school, but it may not be the one for you. MSW is a very broad area and if you know the area you want, then you can focus on it in grad school. Good luck!
