It tasted like Chicken. Also Monkey: the other white meat.

I had Tabasco sauce, so the flavor was not bad. What was disagreeable was the parasite that went Prometheus on my digestive system. I haven't felt that much intestinal distress since I took my daughter to a One Direction concert. I finally killed the beastie with a generous application of habanero peppers. Until you get that one cook on midrats who can't even make rice. But the worst food I ever had was underway on the boat and the supply officer, a former cook himself, marinated the sunday steaks in butter rum extract. You couldn't pour enough frank's red hot to make the taste go away. People were returning their plates to the galley. One of the comments overheard was that it tasted like arm pit flavored $hit. Not the T-Rat version which was at least barely edible, but the MRE version. The omelet MRE was a yellowish block of gelatinous goo with chunks of some kind of animal flesh suspended in it. If you ate it, vomited it back in the bag and then let it cool, I am positive it would return to the same consistency as originally opened. It was horrible. I was TDY/TDA to RAF Chicksands in England for 2 months. Their messhall sucked, their cafeteria sucked, & even their bowling alley sucked. Their Rod & Gun club had good food. Ate really well downtown too. Worst place in Iraq was Camp Fallujah during the spring 2004 siege. The messhall served what supplies of food they had on hand but that was at least understandable.
