It's been longer and wilder, but the job requires it be trimmed.

I do not have it anymore, but in Iraq I had put on about 60 pounds, had long hair and a huge beard. It was pitch black at night, severe sand storm. I had developed a limp from a severe back injury. I got onto a bus which had no inside lights. I had not said a single word. I suddenly hear, "How are you doing SSgt" I was totally taken aback. I replied that I was good but was at a serious disadvantage. A Sgt that had not seen me in over 11 years had gotten out of the USMC and went into the Army; and somehow recognized me... I was, needless to say... VERY impressed...Heck--I didn't even recognize myself, even in broad daylight, at the time...

*I was retired, and was a contractor at the time too, so no uniform, and he called me by name*
