Probably Senior Executive Service civil servants who have been there the longest. But since there is a cap on SES salaries, a GS-15 who has been there a long time and gets bonuses probably makes more.

PFC GG-15 Ret Lint. Sir with all due respect i don't follow what you are getting at. Oh I understand the question but not the reason of the question Do you care to take it futher? I never made a 100K a year in my entire working yars but did a few things right so we live good.

I used to make the cap while being a GS-15/7 equivalent and that was in Djibouti. Lots of overtime and "differential/hardship" duty pay. At some point you can wind up working for free as no salary can be higher than the Vice President's which was around $236K when I was there. So yes, I nearly doubled the salary for a bit, but got taxed a bunch for it too. The nontraditional way to bust the cap is likely the 3 Service Academy football coaches. Seem to recall they made in the 1/2 Mil to 1 1/2 Mil range. Sure there was some special legislation way back when that set that up.
