Who exactly would be of additional help regarding PTSD and child endangerment? How do I get in touch with them?

My son-in-law is 100% disabled with PTSD, and several other mental and physical problems since coming back from the 'Sandbox.' Now, our daughter, having been born with Lead Poisioning, has an IQ of only 75, as well as profound Dyslexia... He and my daughter have one son who is Autistic, and by that, I mean very intelligent, yet aggressive, destructive, and physically abusive to his mother.
She has, for the last 4 years asked, pleaded and begged for help from the County mental health people, yet she was told they couldn't get any, since they aren't on any welfare roles.
Today, a repairman came into their house, and found that my grandson had literally destroyed every wall in his entire bedroom, leaving a pile of trash a foot deep on his floor. This person called the police, who asked no questions, they just arrived, grabbed my daughter as she was trying to get her son fed and finish the laundry, they handcuffed her, and arrested her, saying she was being arrested for child endangerment. My son in law states that he can't function without her, because she makes sure he gets his medication on time, and literally tells him when to eat and when to sleep.
My daughter has been traumatized, and she was taken away, sobbing and asking what she did to who... while the state has now taken charge of our grandson and put him into a foster home due to us being out of town.
Does anyone have any idea what we can do, or who we can call to get someone to listen to their story, and help them quickly, because my son in law, without the correct meds at the correct times, becomes a danger to himself, and the damage to our daughter at this moment is something we have no idea how to calculate.

Don't take this as gospel. The City or State will make their initial assessment and will incorporate your input in the process at a future date.

Thank you, I've made a call to the "Social Worker" who told me she had no idea this was going on... that she has all the details about 'the family' in her computer, but the Sheriff's office did not request any information on them. Three years ago, considering their problems, I went to the Sheriff's office and made sure that they earmarked that particular address and they had an understanding of those who live there.
It was the one lame attempt I tried, so that someone, ANYONE would know that they aren't crazy... but they're going to look like it time and again, with hiccups in his drug therapy, and my grandson's problems....Thanks for adding your comment, I appreciate it.

You should strongly consider obtaining the legal services of an attorney who specializes in this type of law, or free legal services separate from the county.
There are a sufficient number of horror stories with regard to social services departments to, at least, raise concerns.
The information you share with social services about his ability to function with or without her and to parent, as well as her ability to function and parent could, result in undesirable outcomes. The phrase harmful to himself and others raises red flags, understandably so. However, and treatment and assistance is what he needs, but those words with social services can have knee jerk reactions.
Your proximity, if in the same city, and involvement are a plus (I wasn't clear on whether you live out of town, or were traveling, so out of town.
As others have stated, the VA is your best bet for getting him assistance (social worker at the hospital). With regard to here, she should be assigned a public defender who will likely have to be chased down assertively to get help.
You are limited with regard to information VA will share due to privacy and HIPPA laws. He can authorize them to share information (they have forms he would complete). Similar for her.
An autism support group should be contacted, also.
Separately, consider an attorney specializing in Social Security disability for your grandson, and possibly, your daughter.
Help should have been offered through the school and social services with the diagnosis of ASD.

Yes, I see that, sorry... They are in Houston, Texas, and yes, he's been in and out of jail on a near constant basis since returning. He's been in the VA Psych wing several times, and the last brush with the law was when he saw their son beating his mother and knocked him away... thus he was charged with child abuse before anyone would listen, and try to have some understanding about this... He's a good man, who loves his wife, and sadly, rarely seems to come out of his drugged fog, because they just seem to keep tossing pills at him when he asks for help.
At this time, we are working about 200 miles away, living in our RV, and trying to add a last bit to our retirement savings before we call it quits.

I'm sympathetic to your situation. That revelation only adds to importance of social services involvement, and legal counsel.
Texas has a robust Veterans Court system.
