Response by CSM Charles Hayden made Dec 23 at 2018 1:31 AM 2018-12-23T01:31:58-05:00 2018-12-23T01:31:58-05:00 Maj John Bell 4229085 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If your S-1 is &quot;far too busy these coming months,&quot; to promote soldiers due to be promoted, he or she needs to be relieved for cause and replaced by someone who is competent. <br /><br />If this is a fight that you have to fight because the NCO&#39;s, SNCO&#39;s, and Company grade and field grade officers in your chain of command are not fighting it for you, they need to be relieved for cause and replaced by someone who is willing to do their job. <br /><br />If this is not being inspected/monitored by the staff at the G-1 level... I&#39;ll give you three guesses what needs to happen to them.<br /><br />I am not sure what the Army equivalent is... but the Marines had a thing called &quot;Request mast&quot; The first level was at company command and the Company Commander had three business days to investigate, resolve, and make a formal written report to the next command level. If it was not resolved to the Marine&#39;s satisfaction, Battalion CO had five business days, then Regiment had 10 business days. Then Division had 20 business days. At that ceremony you will receive your promotion orders.<br /><br />Your company leadership is likely already working with your battalion to get everything squared away. I was put in for CPL in mid march and was pinned June 1st. Hope that helps. I just got a personell action form that listed the promotion in the narrative.
