Dates of service, 1962-1982. Will be 33 years on October 31.

SMSgt Tony Barnes I'm on the downside hill of life! I sure hope I can be retired longer than 37 years (3 year down and 34 for more to go, which will put me at 85). Some of the 20 and out retirees should be there by now.

Not retired, but on Veteran status now. 1994-2002 (8 years and change), now been out 12 (13 including terminal leave). Hitting the "20 year mark" (total) was the weirdest piece.

I have now joined that club. Served for 20 years and 4 months and have now been Retired for 21 years. My oh my it just seems like yesterday I raised my right hand and was swore in.

I retired in 86 with 20 years service. I had a break in service for 10 days short of 4 years between 1967-1971 when I reentered and was granted 2 years making it 6 years of pay for my inactive reserve time. When I retired in 86 with 20 active years I received retirement pay for 22 years. As a paramedic I went to work with a state run Childrens Hospital in OKC as a flight Paramedic with their Helicopter service. After being with them for 2 years we had a change in Governors and due to funding cuts I was laid off. That was 35 years ago I retired from the military.

Entered active duty March 1968 and retired November 1991, 23 yrs 8 mos. It is now 31 yrs and 6 mos since I retired from active duty. I retired from the Texas Veterans Commission 10 years ago after 22 years with the State of Texas.
