LCpl Timothy McCain wholeheartedly I say Trump. I have had friends who had the unfortunate detail to protect the Clinton's and no one has a good thing to say, especially about her. This is not my opinion it's a fact.

Hypocrite Hillary does not give a damn about Veterans or the military. She will do whatever it takes to get into the White House then stab everyone in the back. Anyone remember this? The former secretary of state suggested in an interview late last week that the controversy which shook the VA last year was overblown, and Republicans used it to serve their own agenda. I don't know about Trump. But I know we cannot trust Hillary. After seeing the parade of loons she had on stage at the DNC convention. She will protect the unions that are running the VA. And the military will continue to be one big social experiment.

I would propose that this question be modified to read "Who has the best plans for Veterans <that we may reasonably expect them to keep>?" Given Hillary's penchant for lying, I don't expect anything of what she may promise. Trump would most likely at least try.

Tim, the democrats have been in power for 8 years. The VA reports directly into the President of the United States. How many promises have been made? How many Secretaries have we had the last 8 years? How much change have you seen? How many people have been fired at the VA? How much improvement have you observed? Sometimes it is wiser to look at the results rather than promises. The democrats have had 8 years to make a dent in the issues at the VA. I think it is safe to say the status quo pretty much prevails.

The democrats are long on promises to the armed forces and veterans and short on delivery. I say that as someone that partakes in not a single VA benefit and never have (not even a VA mortgage). I have no skin in the game. I do not listen to what they say, I watch what they do. After 8 years if you think things have improved then you might have a basis to believe Hillary on her promises. Although she does have the rare ability to lie to your face with a straight face so there is that bit of treachery to deal with.

The record at the VA is not good and has not improved under the democrats. If you think HRC is going to act/behave differently than Obama then you are probably participating in self deception of the highest order which you are free to do.

As much as I hate to say it, neither. From everything I have seen, the bulk of the government has given up on veterans. There may be pockets left, but not many.

Neither addresses closing the gap of unemployed and under-employed transitioning veterans. Just in the links provided, HRC mentions nothing about it, and Trump only says he will increase funding on veteran job training and placement services. That's just the same mindset used before- vets can't do anything else so we will pay to train them to be truck drivers and construction workers because there is demand in those fields. How about some real initiatives to provide employers with incentives to hire vets, or consequences for not.

Well if could actually get an appointment under Trumps plan I'm all in. I've been trying to actually get an appointment since June 29th. Even after several phone calls and them telling me that I'd have to go through "new patient" orientation even though I've been in the system since 1997 I still don't have an appointment. Not sure I'll get one since I refused to go to their stupid "new patient orientation" I'm not a new patient. I'd go with Trump's plan if they'd let me go down the street to the clinic less than a mile from my house. That stupid choice program doesn't work. The nearest VA clinic is 30 miles away the opposite direction from where I work so I still have to travel 60 miles one way to get to an appointment at the VA clinic if I can actually ever get one. But I still can't use it because I'm too close. and it doesn't matter anyway because my co-worker tried to make an appointment in April for a check up in July. They cancelled "indefinitely" his appointment and still won't let him use the choice program even though he's running out of blood pressure meds AND they won't renew the prescription until he's seen again. So Yep they'd better do something soon.
