LTJG Private RallyPoint Member1817444<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am requesting to be released from the Army Reserves to complete my Naval Aviator packet. <br />I'm getting some mixed answers on who signs off on my release. I looked into regulations and read that a Lieutenant Colonel or higher can release me from the Army, but my unit admin tells me a flag officer needs to sign it. The issue is my packet needs to be submitted in 2 weeks. Anyone have any insight?Who has to sign my dd368 to be separated from the Army?2016-08-18T16:33:19-04:00LTJG Private RallyPoint Member1817444<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am requesting to be released from the Army Reserves to complete my Naval Aviator packet. <br />I'm getting some mixed answers on who signs off on my release. Must be submitted through the chain of command, with a DA 4187 endorsing your conditional release from every level of your chain of command. It will get kicked back if not all in order. Takes a long time to get an answer on it. Good luck.Response by SFC J Fullerton made Aug 18 at 2016 5:12 PM2016-08-18T17:12:06-04:002016-08-18T17:12:06-04:00PO3 Aaron Hassay1817974<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That 368 is a dod instruction.usually your unit co signs it then that is returned to your sponsoring branch handler who works with usmepcom to to a new physical specific the special requirements of the dity assignment. I do not know or think the regs required a certain paygrade officer beyond the unit co. What dod reg are you referencing. Easiest thing to do is read the actual dd form 368. All the instructs are on ther. I would not believe just by mouth the words of someone without referencing the instructionResponse by PO3 Aaron Hassay made Aug 18 at 2016 7:49 PM2016-08-18T19:49:57-04:002016-08-18T19:49:57-04:002016-08-18T16:33:19-04:00
