<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I do like how BLC and ALC are now worth promotion points for those promotable SPC/CPL’s and SGT’s in low density MOS’s where it is much more difficult to get that promotion.SFC Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 03 May 2024 12:52:26 -04002024-05-03T12:52:26-04:00Response by 2LT Brian L. made May 3 at 2024 2:05 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My question is... with the low number of recent recruits and now making promotion "easier" what are the implications three years from now? Especially at SFC and higher the ranks might clog up more.2LT Brian L.Fri, 03 May 2024 14:05:29 -04002024-05-03T14:05:29-04:00Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 3 at 2024 2:09 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That's all fine and dandy, but I want to k ow how the issue of sear distribution will be fixed....especially for those very low density MOSs that get maybe 4-5 seats a year.MSG Private RallyPoint MemberFri, 03 May 2024 14:09:13 -04002024-05-03T14:09:13-04:00Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2024 9:57 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Theoretically this shouldn’t affect later promotions as much as you’re thinking, because the PME is still required for advancement. Really all this means is the temporary promotions from the last year no longer have a deadline to make their PME. I think SMAs intent is to give these NCOs the visual confirmation (ie stripes) of their position, and not punish them for the continual backlog at PME courses. Ultimately, they still need it if they intend to continue their career. The timing is just less critical.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberSat, 04 May 2024 21:57:10 -04002024-05-04T21:57:10-04:00Response by PO1 Robert Ryan made May 5 at 2024 11:39 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>That is absolutely ridiculous. Promoting a person without the proper knowledge and or experience. The entire military is already dropping standards. All standards. Education, physical, and on top of that my commander may be a female who thinks she is a cat or dog. 45 years ago when I was a recruiter if you smoked pot you would be sent to sent for a psychiatric appointment when you were at MEPS. Now you can be an obese man who thinks she is a pregnant women and still get in. The military as a whole is all screwed up. God help us in case of a real war.SSG Bob RobertsonSun, 30 Jun 2024 15:00:24 -04002024-06-30T15:00:24-04:00Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 4 at 2024 1:02 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It’s painful as some of us had to complete the next grade’s PME before being placed on an OML to then be promoted to the next grade.<br />It’s a kick in the groin to see what this core does sometimes as it does not make sense just to make commands happy. It’s also a joke to see this core go backwards. It’s one of the reasons there’s more retirements than enlistments.SFC Private RallyPoint MemberThu, 04 Jul 2024 13:02:17 -04002024-07-04T13:02:17-04:00Response by SGM(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 24 at 2024 9:50 AM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Army tried this once before. All it did was backlog the required schooling even worse. The Army is taking a step backwards…again.<br />PME should be a requirement before promotion. If you want to get promoted, go to school. If not, stay where you are and let your peers pass you. <br />A SSG with 2Y TIG who does not have ALC is simply spinning his/her wheels, and making the backlog for required PME even worse for those that want to attend.SGM(P) Private RallyPoint MemberWed, 24 Jul 2024 09:50:18 -04002024-07-24T09:50:18-04:00Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 19 at 2024 12:03 AM
