And quite frankly, it's a result of stupid or uneducated people being checked by stupid or uneducated people (or maybe even worse, leaders not checking behind their subordinates). And people are probably gasping "how could you call all these people in the DoD stupid", but yes, I said it. Spell check is a pretty simple thing to use. So are little red and green/blue squiggly lines.

In the above example, MS Word and Powerpoint both caught the grammatical error for me when I tested it out by sticking a blue squiggly line under it. Common sense and education also caught the error, however.

MS Office costs $10 through HUP and if you don't have money or access to it but you have internet access, Openoffice.org offers a full sweet (see what I did there?) of office products that operate almost identically to MS Office itself.

So people are either stupid because...well, they are....or because they refuse to use a simple tool readily available to them...or because they failed to check their subordinates' work. Or maybe more than one of the aforementioned reasons.

Take your pick.

Here's an awesome example from mandatory Army training:

It is okay to drive faster than others above the speed limit as long as you are have excellent eye-hand coordination and you are driving on the left-most lane. That is where all this stuff stems from. The sign posted above is not nearly as bad as some of the stuff we have all seen. The "no child left behind" mentality is going to be a tough one to deal with, and many of us will likely not live long enough to see the effects of it fully repaired. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 27 Aug 2014 12:37:32 -0400 2014-08-27T12:37:32-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 21 at 2015 7:05 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/who-is-responsible-for-error-filled-signs-on-installations?n=544287&urlhash=544287

Your sure youre spelling is correct two, write?

;-) SGT Private RallyPoint Member Sat, 21 Mar 2015 19:05:05 -0400 2015-03-21T19:05:05-04:00 2014-08-26T21:38:33-04:00
