Yes in some cases I think that government employees and elected officials have forgotten who they work for LTC Private RallyPoint Member. Thankfully I don't think the majority of them that have forgotten who they work for.

If the People were educated on the Constitution says (not paraphrased) and understood their role/responsibility in the system, I KNOW we would be in a better place.

Yes they have forgotten. Too much corruption and a loathing for America by government employees themselves. Also with all the imported voters the idea of a Constitutional Republic in not ingrained in their DNA. Therefore the government now is more interested in ruling sheep than serving its people. Senators and Congressmen/women get fat on special interest groups lobby money. The PC Nazis have brainwashed the millennial generation into kissing everybody's ass but the righteous. So sick of it.

I think some military members forget their place. Don't take it wrong, I mean that we work for the Civilian Elected Officials (President). President George Washington set the tone that we are servants of the people. If we want real Authority, run for office.

I don't think many understand the premise of their jobs is based on the Constitution. I used to run into it when it came to spending money on contracts. Non-appointed staff would commit the VA to purchases that violated the Anti-Deficiency Act and then would get angry when their supervisor would charge them with a disciplinary action. The Constitution delegates authority very explicitly. It was understanding this process that was awe-inspiring to me, how some 227 years ago, when it was finally ratified that our forefathers had the wherewithal to detail the process. Many in our federal system today seem to think that our forefathers' thinking is outdated, not up with the times. I struggle to agree.

I have no question that politicians and bureaucrats know exactly who they work for. The bureaucrats work for the incumbents who pay them (craft and administer the budget) and the incumbents work for We the People who elect them. The fact that we reelect them with incomprehensible regularity serves to reinforce their impression that we approve of the job they are doing. Can anyone possible argue with that?

TSgt Hunter Logan yes they have forgotten. The whole concept is public service with the operative word being service they are elected and hired to serve us their constituents and citizens of the United States.

Yes and yes.

The more troubling thing is that so many of the 'We the People' seem to have forgotten who these people work for? If more people remembered this and what it means for them to REPRESENT the American people, we would not have Trillions in debt, an immigration policy that can barely be called a policy and officials who seem to be unaware that we live in a Republic, or what this even means?

Since I am unable to reply directly, We are not a Democracy. Never have been and hopefully never will be. We are a Republic. The fact that you are not aware of this, is a troubling, as a leader in the military, but a symptom of the much bigger problem.

We the people have the power and we are the bosses of the elected officials. Unfortunately, most people have forgotten this or think that there is nothing that they can do. If we the people stand united we can and will change our government. Elected officials must be reminded of this.
