If it can be proved that Trump was indeed briefed on this and did nothing, he should resign. Of course I know he is too egotistical to ever do that.

If... and it's a big "IF" it's true, then the really important question is this; what are we to do about it? Personally, if the sitting CIC knew about something like this having been provided credible intel backing it up... then completely ignored it; I would find that grossly incompetent. However, "knowing" something like this isn't the same as forming a policy for how to resolve it. Do we declare war on the Russian Federation? The Soviets didn't when we killed their men by proxy in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. Do we issue "ultimatums"? What good are those if we're not ready to go to war to enforce them? Trump appears to be denying it's a "thing"... so for me, it's a 50/50 proposition. If he's right, then it's just another lie aimed at unseating him... if he's wrong; then he's either dishonest/incompetent... or being dishonest because it was a secret that wasn't supposed to get out. I can think of several reasons such a secret should remain so... from the fact that even Russian "proxy" actions do not mitigate the existence of foreign terrorism, to the realities of such things likely happening regularly throughout history as a means for nations to fight one another without "messy" public wars.

Let's back the bus up a little but.

We knew the Iranians, specifically the IRGC were killing Americans in Iraq for years. What was done about that? Well, nothing. Actually, they were rewarded for it. We signed a nuclear deal with Iran that send them billions in cash and a path to a nuke. They received no negative consequence for years of targeting and killing Americans.

Trump kills the guy in charge of the IRGC (Soleimani) with a missile outside of Baghdad airport. The media and the leftists went nuts saying this would cause WW III. How could he do such a thing, this was an illegal strike/targeting etc. etc. etc.

Now we hear the Russians are targeting Americans. Neverminded there is no actual proof of that but hey so what. Don't tell me the WaPo put out a story so it is credible....They are not credible.

Let's assume for a second it is true. What should we do? Take out Putin with a drone strike? Launch a nuke at Moscow? What is your suggestion?

Some blame has to go to those that continue to turn a blind eye; excuse, rationalize, and/or argue in favor of corrupt behavior and the appeasement of the Russian government in facilitation of Russian objectives (control of Ukraine, G8 membership, influence in Syria, weakened NATO) to the detriment of U.S. strategic interests.
