PO3 Steven Sherrill - The question wasn't who would win a General. However I do have to disagree with ya there. West has a hell of a following. Both in the minority community and among military/vets ( who we all know are treated worse than minirities at present).

SFC (Join to see) - While you make valid points, the simple truth is even with that support, he couldn't win re-election to his congressional seat. I fully agree that vets are what politicians look down on when they look to see what they are stepping on. Additionally, the candidate that I support has equally no chance of winning the General Election (as things currently are), but I still support him. Either West or Powell would make me reconsider who I vote for.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I respect Gen Powell but his last endorsement for O? No longer trust him if he'll trash his beliefs and good of the country over a trivial issue as race.
The FL Cong race? LTC West likely won it straight up but amid several voting irregularities, he decided to concede rather than put his district thru a battle. Gotta respect that. Plus he has a hell of a national following.

SFC (Join to see) - Not this time. He lost the election legitimately. It was very close. It was very ugly, but he did lose. As far as national support goes that may well be. Of course unless he puts himself out there we will not know what he his true support looks like.

I'll most likely go with Trump but to be honest, I'm not over thrilled with ANY of the available choices this election cycle.
