Ronald Reagan because he really cared for the Military. You saw it in is actions on how he took care of us. Trust but verify....

I like Lincoln, and Reagan, and those that really worked to either keep the union together or increase pride in the USA. There are time when this country has gone through bad times and has really felt bad about itself in general. Occasionally, we need a leader that can bring back some pride.

While I don't agree with all of the policies and decisions of any politician or president, I think the leadership style, resolve, persistence, and personal conviction of the two I mentioned appeal to me.

In our past, George Washington comes to mind. He was so loved by the people he could have easily stayed in office. He chose to leave, setting a precedence. King George III is attributed as saying that "he would be the greatest man in the word" if he left office to return to his farm in a conversation with Benjamin West.

In the present, Ronald Reagan. Although I was 1 year shy of voting for him for his second term, I believe he would have followed Washington's path if offered to stay longer.

Teddy. Because he had the testicular fortitude to stand up to any country that threatened our citizens and was not afraid to use his "Big Stick", the US Navy. That and he was a combat veteran. Unlike some of the more recent POTUS'es.

FDR tried to keep us out of WWII although he was keeping Russia's and England's militaries afloat with the lend lease act constituting of equipment, vehicles, ships, and tanks. Once the Axis powers declared war on America, FDR primarily orchestrated the war in Europe and the Pacific. His voice was a commanding presence of moral imperative, military might, and total victory.

Ronald Reagan. He was always optimistic about America and our position as a Super Power. He made you feel good... and proud. History will show he was the right person for the job in dealing with Soviet Russia and freeing central Europe.

Washington, the man who would not be king. How easily could he have gone from the man in the second image to the fictitious man in the third? Rather than returning to his farm as in the fourth image, imitating his legendary role model, Cincinatus (in the fifth)?

The Roosevelts, Ike, Lincoln, Washington...how the hell do you choose a favorite? It'd be much easier to pick my least favorite. haha

I may have to go with FDR. He had a hell of a job navigating the Great Depression and then slowly convincing the American people that getting involved in Europe was the right thing to do. We came out of both positioned to be one of the greatest powers on the planet for decades to come.

Grover Cleveland: he vetoed more bills than any other President, simply because they were unconstitutional. He is one of the few who did not expand government power.

Ronald Regan, he put the USSR in financial ruin and then it Broke Apart. For those of you who have never done a duck and cover drill in school thank Ronald Regan. Growing up during the cold war one always had the shadow of a nuclear war over them. It was the intent of the USSR, China, and their puppets to spread Communism to the whole world.

The USSR would have taken all of Europe after WWII if it were not for the USA. The Korean war and vietnam were Proxy wars started by russia and china to spread communism through out Asia with only us to stop it. Had we not stood up to them they would have kept going.

Lincoln was awesome, if you don't mind his essentially blockading Charleston, SC, goading its inhabitants to attacking the source of the blockade, Fort Sumter; jailing those who criticized him in the press; suspending habeas corpus; waging unrestricted warfare on civilian populations; imposing the first US military draft by Executive Order; issuing unbacked currency, in violation of the Constitution; imposing the first US income tax by Executive Order; seizing property without due process. I could go on and on.
