To start off the discussion. If you are stationed or live in the Southwest, there are several RV spots spread out, and they are Government Famcamp types that people don't think about using, the only thing you need is an ID card.

San Diego - http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/california/fiddlers-cove-rv-park
Grand Canyon - http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/arizona/fort-tuthill-recreation-area
Colorado River - http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/arizona/desert-breeze-travel-camp
Lake Havasu - http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/arizona/crazy-horse-campground
Las Vegas - http://www.militarycampgrounds.us/nevada/desert-eagle-rv-park

And many, many more out there at very cheap rates.

This site has a LOT of good information on Open and Secret Military FAMCAMPS. It is run by a GI. Enjoy!
