Who needs to sign my DD 368 for an interservice transfer from the army national guard to the Air national guard for the state of Texas? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/who-needs-to-sign-my-dd-368-for-an-interservice-transfer-from-the-army-national-guard-to-the-air-national-guard-for-the-state-of-texas

I'm in the process of trying to transition to the air national guard from the army national guard. I've talked with an air guard recruiter and gotten the conditional release form signed as well as talking with my unit that I am at. However, even thought the process of passing it up the chain has started it seems as if everyone is still unsure as to who has the authority to go ahead and sign it to confirm my transition. Just curious to see if I could get some more information on who might have the authority to do so. Could be Brigade or MACOM or State MILPO. Your chain of command is the answer. Ask them as typically your recruiter should go to them, not you, and provide the signed DD368 and request a DA200 (receipt). If the unit does not know that is the point of the Bn and BDe Admin NCO or NCOIC; they know. 1SG Russell S. In the National Guard, that State AG often keeps that authority at their level. For Guard, I am betting dollars to pesos that it will need to go to TAG for your State. In most states that is delegated to the G1 (O6).
Even if the G1 is signing the DD 368, it usually involves a conversation with TAG.
And since letting people voluntarily leave is the lowest priority of everything pending state level, that wait time is typically 3-6 months. Additionally, did you receive an enlistment bonus, is your MOS critically short in your state, are you a good soldier, how much time is left on your enlistment, is your unit in the shoot to deploy? These are all factors that will be part of the decision. Regardless, best of luck and thanks for serving 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 14 Mar 2024 14:53:45 -0400 2024-03-14T14:53:45-04:00 2024-03-13T18:50:49-04:00
