Who reviews medical waivers for the Army and how long does it take to hear back?

So recently I've been waiting on a waiver. So my recruiter told me its a process. So it took a month for them to review it. Its been two weeks now and it still says reviewing. How long does it take to review it. Who is in charge of reviewing waivers?

That's the book answer Medical waivers have been getting reviewed much faster over the years and will move you along in the process for inspection to enlist

The Surgeon General is in charge of medical waivers and it could take up to 12 months.

If I had to guess, it might be as long as the Medical Review Broad (MEB). In the luckiest days and fastest processing I have seen in the MEB process is been within 90 days of initial packet submission to evaluation outcome. however, in some people I have seen it take 2 years or more.

It rear depends on how big their back log is and how fast they want to get people in

Everything in the military is a process... this one can take up to a year. It also sounds like you’ve asked this question multiple times before. Hard truth? If you can’t handle “hurry up and wait,” you might want to find a different profession/job...

Be patient and regularly follow up. It's a good idea to be in communication with your POC and that they understand what your situation is. I ended up waiting 1.5 years for mine to get approved.

It appears that you need the Army more than it needs you. As said before, if you can’t handle ‘hurry up and wait,’ then you have chosen the wrong line of work.

From my experience, I’m still waiting as well I’ve been on the process for 11 months now. It’s def a process man, patience is key. But you just need to really get info from your recruiter see if meps has done their part to send it up to USAREC or whenever it needs to go. Mine recently got sent up, and sent back for mistake and sent back again after a month of waiting for meps. So really is a process bro just hang In there.

Yes, the process is long and arduous, but this will also teach patience, something that is necessary in the military.
