Though I love engineering I don't think my body can keep up at my young age. I was looking at doing something with computers since I excel in that field. Not sure who I need to talk to and not sure how to pick another life in the military. Also, I am NG and not sure if going active would be a good choice. Who should I talk with to help me decide on a new career path? 2020-05-27T16:00:04-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 5941135

I am looking at changing my career choice, I want a full career. It all depends on where you located. You can utilize https://www.hrcapps.army.mil/Portal/?page_id=12973 HRC Portal, the Position Map to see what is around your area, along with talking to your ARCC. I will tell you this, the 25B course is three months long if you do it in one shot. Once they get you sub-netting you will be lost for a bit. I was board up until phase 3 then it started peaking my interests.

 Portal - Login

You are accessing a U.S. Government (USG) Information System (IS) that is provided for USG-authorized use only.

Response by SFC Steven Borders made May 27 at 2020 4:15 PM 2020-05-27T16:15:47-04:00 2020-05-27T16:15:47-04:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 5941233

Strictly on the Guard side your retention NCO could help. You say you want to do something with computers. What exactly? It’s a big field. That’s the question I’d answer for myself first as it will probably lead you to a lot of other answers on how to proceed.

Happy to answer any questions you may have in different areas (assuming I know the area).
