1LT William Clardy 358020

There have been a handful of discussions on RallyPoint where us old or otherwise retired types have indulged in some hearty bar-quality talk about what we'd do if Uncle Sam's knickers got in such a twist that some desperate fool hauled us back to active duty, possibly to lead the contingents of boy scouts being drafted as part of the same mobilization.

I'm curious what the currently serving crowd has to say. Would you eagerly take orders from a 60-something major or a 50-something platoon sergeant? How would you integrate such triarii into the force? What would you expect from them (us)? Who wants a half-century old company commander? 2014-12-06T16:17:55-05:00 1LT William Clardy 358020

The AF just raised the max age to join AD enlisted to 38. I always enjoy learning from the "old dogs." Had a SSG I worked with who had had a long break in service. His first enlistment was the year I was born. Had a little less patience than some. But definitely was professional.
As for what would I expect? A lot of experience! And I'd put up with the cantankerousness.
