Who would be interested in group called Veterans for Racial Harmony?

We see all this stupidity and race-baiting and violence but what organization stands head and shoulders above almost all others? What organization works side by side in doing their jobs more than just about any other?

I think this is a good start. And the military does set a good example of how we can all work and get along- how all walks of like can put it aside and become one. But that is the thing... we are one. WE are all a part of a brotherhood. WE signed up for our mission. KNOWING our differences would come into play.

I think we also need to look into our ranks first and foremost before we shine the light- to say look at us... because the first think people are going to do, is dig. We know there are gangs in the military. There are members of groups that WE DONT WANT in our military. There is hate crimes and violence and EO issues. We need to figure out how to deal with our internal issues, before we shine the light on it.

But I do agree we are the BEST example out there currently of how to work together!

Racial harmony is bullshite without major social, political, and judicial change in the country. Racial harmony is nice feel good endeavor but it won't change a damned thing until we do something tangible to eradicate poverty, institutional and governmental racism and level the economic playing field.

I concur with SMSgt Minister Gerald A. Thomas. Focusing on reconciliation over external aspects which we have no control over such as race, gender, heritage, etc. may help on an individual basis. The primary issue is the nature of our heart which can only be healed when we recognize our need for Christ, repent and turn where He leads us.

I hope everyone is for the concept, not sure I need to join a group to do it...
I need to treat everyone I meet with mutual respect and trust.
I hope they will do the same for me.

When we see people not playing nice, we need to see if we can assist but stay in our lane. I believe some events are deliberately escalated to create a new issues, overgeneralize racial groups to fulfill a national agenda that supports the further separation of society.
Leaders must consistently act without bias and discuss the problems but talk about how we are all together to solve them.

The UCMJ worked well for military members by providing an incentive to abide by the numerous rules and regulations. But in a civilian environment that is entrenched in culture and tradition based on their surroundings, not likely to be very productive.

With the decisive tone established by the current administration in Washington D.C., I would think negative effects would prevail.

What we need as a nation is a good ole Southern Revival! Love and Charity is where its at!

I believe the intent is admirable, but the truth is, with the number of similar programs and groups already in existence, what would this one offer that would make it beneficial? As mentioned already, adding additional group or groups will not solve the problem without some "persuasion?" to work along side of it, and even that would have its own human rights issues...
