There are many who have lost faith in the integrity of the American voting system. Maybe you haven't, but that's not the basis of this question. If you want to argue that everything is hunky dory, simply start your own discussion thread. I'm interested in hearing responses to mine.

Now imagine (hypothetically) that "some authority" decides that there is so much evidence of chicanery in the 2020 election that a special election will be held just to decide the presidential race. Who would you trust to monitor that election and how would you conduct it? I will reserve my own response to avoid prejudicing yours.

Since there is no authority that could do that within our constitution, this could not happen, but to play along, I would trust the same people that we now have. They are professional and honest.

The Constitution does not specify any rules for elections. It defers to the individual states or Congress to pass election laws. Given rampant Jerrymandering and other chicanery, some may reasonably argue to revisit those laws

CPT Jack Durish - I agree (surprise) but that has to be dealt with at the state level OR a Constitutional amendment, which we all know we could never get through now days.

I think that the law should be followed and representatives from both campaigns be allowed to observe directly as these ballots are counted with the right to challenge one that seems wrong.

As it is now in almost all states.

It seems that some jurisdictions are violating their own laws about allowing observers and political parties have had to petition courts to gain access to observe vote counting. However, just how well can one observe vote counting? Imagine yourself assigned the task. How many vote counters could you observe simultaneously? Could you insure accurate vote counting? This is why, rather than arguing over existing systems, I asked for ideas on how to insure honest voting...
